4 year old nose bleeds

For about 3-4 weeks now ds has been suffering from small nose bleeds. He doesn't have full bleeds (blood dripping etc), but every morning he wakes up nose fully blocked with black dried blood ( tmi ) and blood smeared on his face. I have to bath him and play splashing water in his face to get rid of it. He comes out of school nose blocked with blood, sleeves and bed covers are full of blood marks, he doesn't pick his nose so not picking a scab or anything, he doesn't have cold either but does sniff sometimes when his nose is blocked.

I've booked to see gp next week but really worried. Anyone have any advice?

It does sound like he is picking... during the night, this can be a subconsious thing, and at school too...

i would sugest going to your GP, getting some naseptin, and using that. it will heal the affected area, and if it persists after that, then ask for a referal to ENT.

My DS suffers quite bad with them, but it has got better over time.

dont worry about them, its rare that it would be anything more than simply week nasal lining, irritation, and recurring "tear" causing the bleed.

If its not much blood too, its probably just a small irritation.

see what the GP says xxxx
