Viral infection and mmr

Took ds to see nurse practitioner today as he has an awful hacking cough. Chest and lungs all clear so she thought it was viral and could be with us for a couple of weeks (joy!) I forgot to ask, he is due his MMR jab on Tuesday, is it safe for him to have or should I postpone.

Does anyone have any experience of this? I've googled but can't find anything. Thanks

no, postpone it till he is well. And ring again to make another appointment. My docs had been sending out reminders for my dd2's mmr 2 jabs since January and now just got over her shingles, so i rang my docs today and booked it for the end of the month.

I'd postpone, they should reschedule if they've anything worse than a mild cold.

DD2 was due her's at the beginning of February but she had a really nasty cold which developed into a chest infection. ABs cleared the chest but the snottyness lasted a good 3 weeks so I postponed her jabs until this week. I really wanted to make sure she was 100% before having them. No problem at all.
