been to gp this morning wi dd 4 burning up, crying wi chest pain saying it hurts i did tell gp this but said she would be fine , not sure weather she needs hospital my self or do i gave abbs time to work?

Have you tried giving her some calpol or nurofen?

Chest pain? Hmm not a good symptom. Does she perk up at all? Is she drowsy ? How does her fever respond to medicine?

yes after a few lots of meds she picks up a little but still ill:( going to see how she is over nite unless we need to take her in urgently

Has she had a sleep? See if she can manage to get off to sleep. Is she wheezy? Coughing anything up?

she slept most of day her breathing is different but gp said it was because of fever, yes she bringing stuff up but swallowing it back down yuk! not weezy though

Chest pain is probably because of what I assume is a chest infection? Is her temp responding to paracetamol and can you get plenty of fluids in to her? Food doesn't matter but fluid does. 'Different' sounding breathing is fine but if she's struggling to breathe, seems to need work harder I think you should call 999. If her temp isn't responding to paracetamol and/or you can't get fluid in to her take her to A&E. If she can breathe ok, take in fluid and responds to paracetamol then observe at home. That's what I would do anyway.

yes the paracetamol and i burphen works for a while i just took her temp again its only 37.8 i know thats high for her her usual is 35.2 she as plenty of fluids as she as gastric feeding tube and i keep topping her up , she now sat up watching tv i hope she over worst

How is your dd now? Is she tube fed because she has an underlying condition? Hope she is feeling ok

thank you dd is loads better we did nearly take her to hospital but managed at home yes she as an undying condition and spends loads of time in hospital, not usually for any thing like this

Watch for her flaring her nostrils, pulling in her chest muscles to breathe in or her going grey around the lips. If she is doing any of these you need to go to hospital. Otherwise she should be ok, keep going with the gastrostomy fluids and painkillers.

thanks thats she was doing other day but seems loads better:) i think the meds are working
