My ds had a virus about a month ago and its left him with viral tonsiltis he's been getting VERY swollen glands and tonsils on and of at the moment they are huge like a golf ball in his neck he's not ill but not 100% himself and more tired than usual his neck hurts especially at night and in the morn but looking at the size of his glands im suprised he's not in more pain sometimes he can hardly move his neck. I've had him to the gp she said it was viral it will go and it did but it keeps comimg back this monday he came home from nursery poorly and his glands were bigger than id seen them so i took him straight to gp a different one he said the same its not bacterial but viral keep giving pain relief it can take a few weeks to go and if his immune system is low he could keep catching it (sorry for long post) its just it seems crazy that a 4 yr old can be left in pain and with such massive glands/tonsils even the gp said they were and yet theres nothing we can do to solve it a month of giving pain relief cant be good. I said i will bring him back next monday if still the same which he is but gp didnt seem to think i need to . I suppose im just looking to see if anyone else has had this or has any ideas what i can do to help him and build his immune system back up .
