Persistent ear wax and olive oil

Hi,

Just a question about DS's ears. They seem to be forever full of wax - if a doctor ever looks in them they are always waxy. From about a month before Christmas I've been putting olive oil in them. The doc originally said to do it for a fortnight, which I did, but they still seem waxy Confused.

So I've kept going with the olive oil (granted not every day, but when I remember so probably every 2-3 days) but it just doesn't seem to ever get rid of the wax.

Anyone had similar and managed to resolve.

As far as I know the wax isn't causing him any problems as such, or any hearing problems (I don't think that not hearing is why he doesn't seem to listen!, I think this is because he is 3!) I'd just like to be able to get rid of it.

Also does anyone know if you can buy anything to look in their ears? I always think one of those gizmos that the doctors have with a light would be v handy.

Thanks

You can buy the gizmo off amazon.

check out my profile. I flushed that out of DS's ears the other day. In the bath, under the water, swoosh water at the ears with a calpol syringe and the stuff comes out.

He LOVED it. The olive oil loosened all the wax.

If you deafen your DC, I'm not responsible though
