Help! My 2.8yi fell on a tiled floor on Saturday and got a very small chip in her front tooth. When she got up this morning the tooth looked a bit yellowish and by picking her up this evening it has turned light brown!

I will get her to a dentist ASAP, but are there any ideas out there????

Hmmm.....my DS bumped his tooth when he was younger on a metal bed frame and when I took him to the dentist they did say something about if it changed colour then it was a problem with the root (possibly root not being too happy/healthy) - not sure what they would do if the root is the issue. Guess it might depend on how badly its damaged. Sorry....at least its a baby tooth! Hope the dentist can shed some more light - or some other MN folk who know more 1st hand tonight!

My dd bumpped her mouth on a see-saw when she was a toddler and her top front tooth went brown. Took her to the dentist who said it could be bruising and that it may or may not go back to its orginal colour. Happily it did go white again. Dentist did say it may have caused damage to the tooth above...but lets hope not!

ds2 was playing superman on the swing - and fell off landing on his face. Both front teeth turned black, and were still v. wobbly after 2 weeks, so dentist took them out. DS2 had huge gappy smile for 3 years! No problem with big teeth when the eventually came through.
