Still awaiting call back from doctor re this problem, and dont want to tie up phone line calling nhs direct (have no mobile), would be interested if anyone has any thoughts/experience of this?
17 mth old dd prescribed Chloramphenicol for conjunctivitis yesterday (bacterial conjunctivitis - the kind with green pus). I administered it 3 times yesterday and once this morning before nappy change. But once I started on nappy change noticed she had a rash on her legs, looks a bit like nettle sting, small white bumps on red skin. Dd not bothered by it, not itchy, and has faded a lot since this morning, but information leaflet with eye drops advises to stop if a rash appears.
I haven't administered anymore since this morning, and dd's conjunctivitis appears a lot better already. Reluctant to re-start until doctor calls, but have been waiting all day for her to do so.
Any thoughts?
