Question for reflux survivors

At what age did your DC outgrow this distressing condition?
Mine hasn't yet responded to treatments to date, and I 'm wondering how much longer this could go on.

My dd was about 18 months when things started to improve. She was still sick 2 or 3 nights a week but it had been 2 or 3 times a night (and more by day). By about 2y6m it had stoped al together.

My DS had awful reflux until he was 12 months, then it disappeared almost over night, he is nearly 2 1/2 now. It is a truly horrible condition which often bought me to tears but we got through it and you will too!

How old is your little one BTW?

DC1 - around 8 months when he was having more solids than milk.

DC2 - around 18 mths, when walking.

What treatments has DC had? Are they frequently weighing and increasing the dosage as the weight increases? Have they done barium swallow / ph test, or considered whether cows milk protein intolerance is present?

PS Toddlers are very easy compared to reflux babies. You will be patient enough to ignore any amount of tantrums.

Around 14 months - seemed to coincide with him being more upright and walking .

Again virtually went overnight .

It will get better - but it is so bloody hard at the time .

Dd (touch wood) has been sick much less of late - she is 17 months. She's been walking since 10 months and tbh that made no difference at all for her.

ds still has awful reflux now at 9yrs however the sickness largely stopped by the time he was 2.

Thanks all, and apols for delay in replying. Our docs have now dismissed reflux as a diagnosis for my DC, but we still don't know what's causing all this pain. More tests tomorrow hopefully.

I would also love to know! My ds is 18 months, less than 20lbs ( big at birth and for a while after) he hates food, happy hungry. He is surviving on fortini high calorie milk. He's on lots of mess and ph probe shows he still refluxes a lot while on his meds....
Help
Please :)
