Baby with a cough

DD is 5mo and for the last few days has had a snotty, snuffly head cold or what I presume to be a head cold.

Today she's coughing, a really dry sort of cough. She's still happy but easily upset and then hard to console, but once she is consoled she's herself again IYSWIM? She's making herself a little bit sick when she goes on a coughing fit, maybe a quarter of a feed, if that. She's also breathing a bit faster than normal, 65-70 breaths a minute if I've counted right, but she isn't sucking in under her ribs.

Any advice on relieving her discomfort? I've given her Calpol but not sure of the best way to relieve her sniffles and snuffles or ease her congestion and cough.

Does she have a temp? I'd have thought with that resp rate you should prob get her seen as she's so young but I could be wrong - am off to google.

Ok. According to this her resp rate isn't actually too high. However, if you have any concerns don't hesitate to call ooh/nhs.

Try steam, tilting the cot, lots of fluids and salt drops up her nose. Not much else to suggest unfortunately.
