My little boy has been quite upset the last couple of days but at the same time each day! Generally at 6pm he has been drooling loads and has his hand in his mouth quite a lot, but I've also noticed he puts his hand on his head a bit???

He used to go to bed at 8:30 but has been so tired recently I'm trying to move his routine forward!

It could be teething, and 5 mo isn't that early. The HV thought my dd was teeting with the same symptoms at 6 weeks, and she was right - she had her first tooth 4 weeks later.

The problem is that they can teeth for what seems like forever before a tooth actually pops through the gum!

And from my experience, teeting is worse at night, probably because there is less to distract them from the pain. I put a damp flannel in the freezer and let my dd chomp on it when she seemed to have teething pain, and it seemed to work.
