Colds/ virus with tummy ache?

My ds2 has had cold symptoms for 3 days and been home from school but in the last few hours has complained of tummy ache and feeling sick? What could this be? It feels like we have all been ill for ever and to be honest I can't stand the thought of being up all night if it's another tummy bug. Could it be to do with a cold. Vv tired mummy.

Where is the pain presenting? If its just above the hip bones, have a prod, you'll probably feel a lump. Its a swollen gland and goes away on its own. Its called mesenteric adenitis and very common in young dc

If it's more a tummy ache - could it be all the snot in her tummy? Especially if she's not eating much? I know I get a bad tummy when I'm really cataarhy (sp) and DS (15mo) pukes easily if he has too much snot I find.
