Piriton for 6month old?

My dd has had a really bad cold and now she's alot better she's come out with a rash. Took her to the docs today and he thinks allergic reaction to something and prescribed piriton. But the bottle says not recommended for under 1s and dd is 6months. Will it be ok to give to her?

Yes it will! My dd has allergies and was prescribed the same at 6monrhs, and had no issues at all. I was told that is safe and regulated for under 1yrs, but I think for general sale it's labelled as 1+

Oh, wander over to the allergies board too, lots of helpful advice there!

Any idea what caused the reaction?

Not a clue she's ebf so could be something I've eaten only thing that's changed for her is she's gone up a size in nappies but still pampers baby dry. She won't take the piriton anyway so its not going to help much.

You could try using one of those measuring syringes and shoot it into her mouth. My DD has piriton (also prescribed from a few months old) for dairy allergy.

she won't take anything from a spoon or a syringe! Luckily the rash seems to be going on its own. I have a few allergies I'd hoped my babies wouldn't.
