5 month old full of cold

My 5 month old is full of cold, running / blocked nose, coughing.

We're giving her calpol & using a nose sucky-thingie to try to keep her nose clear (a 24-hr job at the moment!)

We're also taking it in turns to have her sleep on us so sea upright, she won't sleep in her cot at all.
Also have Olbas oil in hot water in the room.

Is there anything else we can do for her? Poor little thing looks so sorry for herself.

Is it worth taking her to the docs or are we already doing everything we can?!

Sounds like you are doing everything you can. It is just a matter of time now Smile

12m DD2 is the same and has been crying a lot today which isn't like her at all. I did actually take her to the GP today as her cough as become chesty and I was concerned that it was becoming a chest infection. He noted that her breathing was quite rapid but not too concerning. I've been given ABs to start tomorrow if she's no better. It's horrible isn't it? Hope your DD improves soon.

So long as she doesn't have a fever and her breathing isn't a cause for concern / she isn't too lethargic then yes you're doing everything you can. Push the fluids too.
