Witholding Poo - early stages...

Help!

DD, 3.5 and toilet trained for 15+ months has been complaining of sore bottom. Ignored Blush her for a week or so as the complaints were sporadic. Started to see blood on the end of her poos, so took her to GP. A diagnosis of anal fissure and some anusol have healed the fissure.

All well, except we are now 10 days on and she is witholding poo. She is running round screaming in distress telling me her bottom hurts but won't perform on the potty or toilet. She withholds for about 2-2.5 days then has an accident (after hours of distress / screaming etc).

When she's calm, she's able to tell me (which I have taught her by rote!) that doing the poo stops her bottom hurting and she will be rewarded with chocolate cake, smarties, etc etc

Where do I go from here.... I'm terrified that we are going to end up with serious witholding issues :(

We will see the GP again this week, but wanted to hear some MN words of wisdom....

Thanks

Forgot to add... Her diet is good, she isn't otherwise constipated and I am pushing as much liquid and fruit as I can... (albeit I'm trying to avoid going too far, and ending up with diahorrea)
