Dd 15 weeks is hardly weeing

Her nappies since yesterday are very dry. She's feeding ok and has periods of alert happy wakefulness. Yesterday evening and this evening she's had a short bout of proper pain scream/cry. Last night I gave her calpol and she burped soon after end settled, so I assumed was only wind. Tonight I've not given calpol and managed to settle her rubbing back. I wouldn't be too worried it the dry nappies are bothering me.

Is she drinking plenty? It would be pretty unusual to not make good amounts of urine if there is plenty going in.

How old is she? And are they a bit wet or bone dry?

The nappies should not be dry. I would take her to be seen by a medical professional. Chances are that by the time you get there her nappy will be soaked - but better to be safe.

She's 15 weeks. Nursing frequently. Last 3 hours she's nurses 3x (still doing so as I speak). Definately milk there as I've a fast let down and copious supply. Some are literally bone dry. She did a small poo early (usual new baby consistency like mustard) and nappy was dry. Over night her nappy was wet but not very wet and that was a long time, 9 hours. Not running a high temp that I can tell, and skin looks healthy. Dribbling lots so no dry mouth either. It's very strange

We are on centreparcs so not home. They have a nurse on duty 9-5 so i will speak to her then. I just felt her fontanelle and if isn't really sunken or bulging.

Same nappies as you've always used? You aren't being fooled by a new brand feeling different?
Call the nurse but tbh I think somebody should take a look at your dd. She's taking fluid in so hydrated - hence the ok fontanelle but where is it going?

15 weeks is still little, keep going with the frequent feeds but I would speak to the OOH GP as well, if you look on NHS choices for the local GP practice and ring their number, it will put you through to the OOH service(or give you the number for the OOH).

Thanks northern and dick. I do feel a bit silly but she's not had any really wet ones. Same pampers as normal. When she is wet it's not much. Very odd. Nurse called back and said she needs to be seen in morning by nurse at CP who may refer to peadiatriician at bath or Swindon, but of things deteriorate overnight to call. She did say that she may be drooling it put tho and that bfed less likely to have issues with wee and poo.

Ok - that sounds reasonable. Hope she's ok.

When I worked in NICU, we would weigh a dry nappy, then weigh the used nappy. They very often looked and felt bone dry, but the weight difference showed that the baby had passed urine.

I'm glad she's fine, but if you do have a worry, try weighing a new nappy and the one she's just used.
