Weight question - 3yo DS has weight centile well above height

DS2 is 3.1

He's always had a solid/chunky look about him (since 4/5 months old, when he was still EBF, and very much in contrast to his skinny-bean brother). As a baby his weight and height were roughly in line on the centiles at 50%, and were up to approx 2yo.

He's still got the chunky look, but now just over 9th centile height and 75th weight. I measured him at home after noticing him looking less than svelte at the swimming pool (with lots of other half-naked DCs to compare against!). Weight was clothed.

Question - is the 75% centile weight a warning sign now that it's so out-of-step with his height?

His diet is generally healthy and his 'favourite', though includes biscuits, ice-cream etc. If there is an issue I'm sure it's portion size - he can eat LOTS and does so when it's something he likes. I currently only restrict portions for puddings (unless fruit). Main course & healthy snacks always start with a small portion but can have more when he asks. Do you think I should start to restrict savoury portion sizes now?

Thanks...

Sorry - typo - meant to say his 'favourites' include healthy options like carrot soup, plain porridge, pasta & veg sauce
