Stinging when urinating

Hello :)

DD2 (4) has today said that it stings when she wees. I have had a look and it looks a bit pink down there, so I have slathered on the sudocrem, but am now wondering whether it could be an infection of some sort??

Any thoughts? What should I look out for?

Thanks all.

Could be a urinary tract infection, if so she'll need ABs.

Thanks for answering.

Given there are no doctors open tomorrow, should I just wait until Monday, or do you think these things need checking sooner?

Not had experience of this before with either dd.

Has she got a temperature or any pain in her tummy? Or is it just the stinging?

Have you got a drop in centre anywhere near you?

Hiya,

no temperature, and I asked her if her tummy is ok and she says it is. I am thinking I may ask my midwife friend if she has any of those urine test sticks.

Thanks so much for posting.

Took dd2 to the walk-in clinic and very glad I did. She has a UTI and has been prescribed ab's; just got to watch it doesn't become a kidney infection. Poor love, she was crying in pain when she wee'd earlier :( She was an angel at eh walk-in centre as we had to wait 1 1/2 hours!
