I think DD, 10, has cystitis, I'm just about to call the out of hours service but I thought I'd ask you lot first.

She is "dribbling" tiny amounts and she says it feels as though there's something there, almost like a blockage.

She feels tired but I don't think she has a high temperature (crappy thermometer, must get a new one).

D'you think it's cystitis? I've never ever had it so I've no idea. Will they prescribe abs?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yup get her to the OOH ASAP. You could take a urine sample with you if you want. get her to drink plenty of water.

My DD has a UTI at that age, sounds similar.

She did need anti-biotics and they worked well - but they did taste vile so check what's being prescribed if she's likely to gag at 'banana' flavour [hollow laugh]. My DD would rather have had tablets than liquid medicine tbh.

You are spot on to get yourt DD checked out.

Hope your DD gets better soon. It's not a nice condition to have for anyone.

Thanks all Smile

Got ABs now. She was mortified at the prospect of being examined "down there", despite my assurances that it wouldn't happen.

I was tempted to advise her that, had it happened, it would just have been the first in a lifetime of embarrassing medical-fanjo-exams, but I kept my mouth shut.

She's only 10, and she's my li'l maid.
