Cradle cap-how long does it hang around?

My 5mo DS has cradle cap and the flakes have slowly been coming off. Once this skin sheds is that it or can it crust up again and keep shedding. He was born with quite a bit of hair which grows through the skin do when it sheds he usually loses chunks of heir too... I know it will eventually grow back but wondering if we can expect it to settle soon . Thanks.

Sorry for the typos. Not sure why the use of an iPhone has to lead to more mistakes!

I had great success with ds3 by using loads of olive oil, waiting for the flakes to soften and then washing repeatedly with dentinox. I had to remove a lot manually after this process but 3 months on and he is still free of it.

Olive Oil worked a treat for us too. Gently rubbed some on head, making sure it got through the hair and reached the scalp. Then next morning, took a baby comb through hair, gently massaging scalp with it. Flakes came away in comb without uprooting the hair follicles. Cradle Cap hasn't come back, so I think once you've removed it, you're clear. I'm ready to be corrected, though, if others have a different experience....:)

My DS is just over 9mo and still has CC.

He seems to have grown a mow hawk so it hides it!!! I only realised he still had flakey bits the other day.

I tend to use a soft face exfoliator sponge from body care and olive oil.
