Last week DS was having very similar symptons - high temperature, shivering, blocked nose etc - after a few days we went to the doctors and he was diagnosed with tonsilitis, which was a bit of a surprise as he really hadn't complained about his throat being sore. Maybe check her tonsils ?

We were giving calpol and nurofen to get his temperature down so he was more comfortable, keeping the window open at night, lots of fluids etc.

I've definitely found Nurofen to be more effective at keeping a fever down, but you can combine with calpol for a really high temperature. DS always gets high temps when he's ill.

Hope she feels better soon, it's horrible when they're all shivery.

If her fever lasts more than 3 days or she worsens/doesnt improve I would get her checked out. If she's getting generally better its probably some viral thing.
