NG fed baby and sickness- advice please?

My dd3 is 18 weeks old and is exclusively fed via NG tube, 40ml Infatrini with Duocal mixed in every 3 hours.

She had a barium swallow which showed reflux. She started on domperidone and zantac and they worked beautifully for 5 days- no sickness. But now, she's being sick more frequently again.

Waiting to hear back from paediatrician regarding upping her dose. Does anyone have any other suggestions, experience or advice?

Thanks

Hi cup - been reading your other thread. She's doing beautifully Smile

Is she on overnight pump? What sort of rate and how does she cope?

Have you tried less volume but more often? Sorry I know what a PITA that is.

IME the NG whilst being a godsend in one way can aggravate an already iffy gag reflex. Have they discussed having a g-tube instead if she's going to need feeds long term?

Does your DD take medicine via tube, or orally?

She is not on an overnight pump, we just gravity feed every 3 hours. She is an ideal candidate for a gastrostomy but they won't anaesthetise her as they don't think she'll come off the ventilator.

All meds are via ng tube, her swallow isn't safe enough to take anything orally.

You should try putting down meds, really slowly. My son vomited a lot, so I timed his meds for when seemed the right time. Also agree with SAGAR, unless your DD needs to have 40mls every 3 hours, you could try feeding less more often. If you don't feel comfortable about my advice, pls contact a professional as I am not trained health professional, however my DS was on NG tube feeding. So can understand how your feeling.
Hope your DD gets well soon.
