Just started Creon

My daughter has just started on Creon for pancreatic insuficiency.

She is three years old, we are having trouble getting her to swallow the opened contents without chewing.

She is on a very restricted diet , so we cannot put it into yogurts etc.

we have been mixing it with juice as recommended but there are always bits left, even if we repeat the process a few times.

Does anyone have any advice?

thanks

www.cftrust.org.uk/forum/index.php you could try asking here, even if your dd does not have CF.

apple puree on a spoon? you know, the babyfood that comes in a resealable pouch that you can squeeze out. That is what we have used at work when a child needed creon. HTH Smile

Thanks everyone, I had forgotten about the
baby pouches, I have found one she can eat! so that looks like a good option.

I've given creon on a spoonful of anything from milk, apple purée, chocolate spread, soup, baked beans.....anything to just get it in. Plenty of water afterwards helps as well if there's any hanging around in the mouth. There may be one or two grains left on the spoon at times but it's not a disaster if the dc is getting the rest and the timing and dose is good
