Does anyone know if you can put movicol in jelly or freeze it in a fruit juice lolly? DD1 is not playing ball drinking it. TIA :)

my dd was on movicol for some time, what you have to do is really make it up strong, one sachet to 1/4 glass of water, then top up the rest with concentrated squash...sounds very strong i know but works

Thanks so much, she's such a bugger at taking medicine and I really want to avoid having to give her a suppository. I don't have squash but I will try it with a smoothie and see if that works. Thank you for the tip :)

We have mixed it with ice cream before, it also mixes well with yogurt x and if all else failed we used to ad it Rica fruit shoot she will drink the full thing and not even know it is there.

I always mix it with squash like miarosemum says.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. Still no joy Hmm although she ate 3 punnets of strawberries which had the desired affect. I'm making up some ice lollies with pureed mango so I'll see if she eats that.

we always put it in a little bit of juice of a morning - it goes down no problem

EauRouge · 23/01/2012 09:44

Well, the mango lollies were a total failure. I'll try apple juice lollies next and then try jelly if those don't work. DD1 just keeps saying it tastes 'horrible' but I can't taste it at all Confused

also you know you can make up her whole dose for the day, for eg. if she is on two sachets a day, and let her sip from it during the course of the day. she does not have to have it all in one go, just keep it in the fridge inbetween sips.

Thanks, I think I may have to do that. I successfully hid some in peanut butter yesterday and she ate maybe half a sachet. And she will drink it in water, but only out of a sports bottle Hmm 3 year old logic!
