My son is 5 he often says he has various illness normaly a bad tummy or earache because he hates gettig up to go to school. He doest hate school (in face he seems to really enjoy the actual school day) he just hates getting ready and walking there!

the last few weeks he has been saying he has a sore hip or sore tummy but pointing to his hip on the left side - it actually seems to be higher that his hip more his ribs but it is always the same place which is not his usual - he normally says "mum my tummy hurst everywhere" or " my eye and leg hurt" or some other equally random claim which dissapears after he is dressed and out the door.

There is no swelling, no redness and although he says it hurts when you press a specific place he doesnt seem to be in a great deal of pain, its just bothering me because it hasnt changed to something else.

Is he just getting better at faking illness? or do i need to make sure there is nothing wrong?

DD2's very good at faking illness. However I'd probably get that checked out as he's been saying it for a few weeks consistantly. However it could be that they're heard/seen another person complaing of pain there and had added it to his dramatic repetroire as dd2 would. Wink
