My 3 week old baby has cold symptoms and has just brought back a whole feed (she's never been sick before - barely even posseted). My son had a bacterial chest infection that nearly killed him when he was 7 wks old (last year) and those were the symptoms that he started with too. I'm so scared. I'll be taking her to the GP 1st thing tomorrow, but I'm so scared that it'll turn into something nasty Sad Sad Sad

Take her to the out of hours now, given the history with your DS. Better to be safe than sorry :)

Figgyrolls · 16/01/2012 19:40

I second out of hours, they aren't going to turn you away. Better safe than sorry

Choufleur · 16/01/2012 19:41

If you are worried phone the out of hours service.

madmomma · 16/01/2012 19:42

Do you think? May as well take her to a&e if I'm going to out of hrs - at least they have proper paediatricians there.

Yes, do it, do it right now xx

Unwell three week old is a definate A&E visit for me. No point you wearing yourself out worrying when you can get her seen tonight. She is very, very young - it's not an over-reaction on your part.

I hope she is ok, I know how scary illness in little ones is as DS had bronchiolitis when he was 8 weeks old.

If in doubt take her to A and E/OOH otherwise just keep a close eye on her and follow your instincts.

Hope she is ok x

Hope they give you some reassurance, although following my experiences with them I would go for seeing someone rather than over the phone.

Whatevertheweather · 16/01/2012 19:52

I would second (third, fourth...) take her straight to a&e not worth the risk when they are so tiny. I hope she is okay
