moles- does this sound normal?

Hi,

dd (3) was born with no moles, but a small flat, brown birthmark which hasn't changed. Over the last year or so, she has developed 3 tiny little dark brown 'moles' in different places (foot/neck)- they are flat to the skin and no bigger than a pinhead. The thing that has surprised me is that when each one appeared, it was just there all of a sudden- appeared literally overnight.

Is this a normal age for moles to arrive? And has anyone else been taken by surprise at how quickly they appeared I'd never really thought of them up til now but I am fairly moley...

Hi Mud puddle yeh this sounds normal all my DS have been the same my youngest is 4 and he has started with them recently too just what i call beauty spots :)

My DS is a similar age and has acquired what I would describe as freckles - may be the same as what you are describing as pinhead moles!

I am also fairly moley and both my ds's have also now got a fair few. I seem to remember them appearing around the age of 3 or 4. My eldest ds really doesn't like the ones on his face and often asks me if he can have them removedSad.

Thanks that is reassuring. Niknak that is sad that your ds is bothered by them. Sad I don't know how I expected moles to arrive but they still surprised meSmile

Weird, was just thinking the same thing! Just started noticing them appearing around the same age.

On the subject of moles, is the top of the foot a normal place for a mole? Mine are all on my arms, neck and trunk.

DS has one on top of his foot and one on the side of his toe, right next to the toenail. Has had them for years so I assume they're ok. And yes to them appearing overnight, it still happens to me (have loads of them and about 10 new ones appear every year).
