my 17 month old dd has got tonsilitus and is so uncomfortable when trying to sleep - seems fine during the day. ive propped her mattress up to sit her up more, aint changed much. she dont like ice cream or anything ice cold. her temp was 38.5 when i took her to gp last night. obviously not eating much, she has a cold too so her nose is all bunged up...

was just wondering if any one knew of any other useful tips that could help sooth her.

many thanks

Oh bless her that's horrible! My DD had a very sore throat and she like those chocolate mousses or puddings...you know the buttons ones? ONly I just gave her the actual soft chocolate bit and not the buttons...they're chilled so not freezing like a lolly. Or yoghurt?

That and water...tonnes of water or juice....whatever she likes. Do you give her some Calpol about 15 mins befor bed? that's useful as it's already working by the time they are settling down. And make sure her room is not too hot and has air flow...open door.

thanks for your reply,

she does eat yogurts but less than what she would normally eat. im giving her plenty of juice, she has gone off her bed time milk at the moment. yes i give her calpol before bed or nurofen if shes over heated.

her door is always open as she gets into my bed 10 times a night! and theres no worry of a hot room because its freezing in this place lol

she has since got diarreah so will be taking her to gp as she not coping too well with it all :-( x
