No cold at all, not even a sniffle, and no temp or anything else.

Just this barking, dry croupy sounding cough, in the day and night.

She is asthmatic, but hasn't needed her inhalers for a long long time, although has been using it this week to try and help with the cough, and it hasn't.

The only other thing, and I am not sure if it is relevant, is that just beofre the cough she often complained of her throat feeling like there was something in it, and her food didn't feel like it was going down properly. She has also become a bit fussy with food.
As i say, i don't know if that's related or not. She is a bit of a hyperchondriac tbh.

I think the gp will say it is her asthma, but it has never ever presented like this before.

I doubt this is asthma if the inhaler doesn't work. It may simply be a case of laryngitis or a scratch from something that she has eaten recently. Also, despite common belief, croup can actually still suffer if the airway hasn't grown at the same rate as her body. Bear with it for now.

Might be whooping cough? Ds2 diagnosed with it ( had been immunised) but never got the test so don't know for sure. He still has cough over a year later which is almost certainly habitual now. I'd see gp sooner rather than later.
