when are doctors generally reopening. Only I ask because my doctor has left answerphone on without any info about Christmas opening hours and the emergency doctor switched off. My DS had a blackout on Christmas Eve and I want to speak to DR about asap.

Tomorrow. Today is a bank holiday.

Are you in the UK? You can phone NHS Direct at any time. I'm assuming my surgery is open between Xmas and New Year, although nothing on their website about that.

happychappy · 27/12/2011 09:38

thank you. yes in UK.

Okay - you can also then go to your nearest Walk In Centre here but probably as well to give NHS Direct a ring first. They may be pretty busy today at the end of a long bank holiday weekend.

He's okay ish now but for obvious reasons I'm worrying and when I ring there's just no information or anybody to speak to. Very annoying. I'm waiting on blood test results for him too so really would like to know them to easy my worry

I understand. I think it's unlikely anyone other than someone in your surgery will be able to access the blood test results, so your main concern at this stage is to know whether you'll be able to speak to anyone there tomorrow?

I would expect your out of hours service to know this, does your practice's website at least have details of how to contact the out of hours service for your area? Mine is West Yorkshire Urgent Care for example, you can probably find yours from your PCT's website.
