dd is 15 months and has been off colour all day. On the last two hours she has got a high temp so I've given her calpol. She's now fallen asleep on my lap ( still hot) but she's jerking every 30 secs or so- why might she be doing this? Is it just fretful sleep because shes nit feeling well?

Wake her up and give her brufen - sounds as though her temp is high and she's on the verge of having febrile convulsions. This is what my ds2 did at 14 mths and 24 hours later he was having full-blown tonic-clonic seizures. You need to get her temp down - you can alternate baby brufen and calpol. Call NHS direct/OOH doc service. But it's the fever that you need to deal with before finding out what the infection is that's causing it.
Good luck - it's scary. Hope you're not on your own.
