my dd age 8 was due to have x2 fillings on friday, she freaked out and was sobbing, would not let the lovely dentist anywhere near. She has coped b4.
He has now had to refer her to clinics in hopefully our area.....nw surrey where they do sedation.......any ideas what this will be any 1. Wondering if it will be gas and air or more than this and if all follow up treatments will have to go this way, thanks for reading.

My dd was the same, younger but am sure she'd be the same now - she's nearly 8 (was 5 when needed treatment). She had an IV sedative, and fillings and crowns were done while she was pretty much asleep - she was fine afterwards, and although she remembered the needle in the back of the hand part (and wasn't happy about it, being dd) she didn't remember the rest, and loved her 'silver teeth'.
As for follow-up, its hard to say. Depends on whether your dd can find ways of coping, maybe you can help her come up with strategies for making it all less scary? Lots of talking and planning, and maybe try a dentist that specialises in kids' teeth??
Good luck, sorry not much help...
