Stomach Bug or not?

It's that time of year when all sorts of things are going around school, and DS (6) was sent home last Thursday after being sick. 2 hours later he was bouncing around with not a care in the world. He went to school Friday and was well up until lunchtime Monday when I got another call to go and pick him up. Again he was well until this morning and he was sick again before having any breakfast.

He has no other symptoms, no cold, no fever, mild tummy pains just before he's ill.

Am I dealing with a stomach bug? Any bug I've ever dealt with has been more violent than this.

Ds has had a similar tummy bug

Do your school not have a forty eight hour rule after sickness

They do, but Friday was the school trip to the panto and I was talked into letting him go. Also, it wasn't really apparent it was a bug because he was only sick the once and impossible to tell whether it was a bug or just something which had upset his tummy.

I've just thought of one other thing, from Monday until Sunday just gone, he was on an antibiotic for a nail infection. Could the medicine be the underlying cause of sickness?
