Quick question re conjunctivitis

Hi, neither of my DCs have had this since babyhood but looks as though DS2 now has it (he's 7).

Can anyone advise whether they have to stay off school whilst they have it? I am unable to drive at the moment and have friends helping out with school run so don't want to mess people around coming to pick him up when he needs to stay at home.

TIA :)

Your school probably has its own policy, do they have a website? Could you phone tomorrow at 8am? My guess is they'll want him off until he's being treated, at least, because it's "communicable".

afaik the recommendation to keep children off school or nursery with conjunctivitis has changed in the past few years.
our nursery requires children to be treated as appropriate but not kept away.

Our nursery is the same as Mousey's - treat but not keep away. They won't put any drops in though.

You can get over the counter drops now for it, the pharmacist will ask you some questions to make sure it is conjunctivitus.

Thanks all. No info on school website so will call them first thing and hope someone answers!
