6 month old with first fever

Hello, my 6 month old was up all last night with her first fever. Her temperature was about 39 degrees, and she felt so warm to touch. We gave her infant paracetamol, but it took hours for her temperature to fall and for her to stop crying. We all finally fell asleep around 4am!

This morning she has no fever, and seems fine except a bit tired. We had planned a day shopping in town, but should I keep her inside and resting in case whatever she had, she is still fighting?

I'm probably worrying too much, but this is my first baby, and first time she's ever shown signs of being ill poor thing

Poor you. The first fever is always the scariest!

Keep her in today just to be on the safe side, there are some nasty bugs about.

I would keep her inside incase it comes back again so she needs her defences for fighting it off rather than maybe catching any more...

Thanks very much! I'll do just that
