Hes having trouble breathing through his nose as it's blocked, I'm sat here watching him breath, every so often he pauses inbetween breaths, is this normal?
You would think i would know by now being my 4th dc.

Does he seem to hold hid breath do you mean? My DS is 8 months and has always done this.. it still now makes me wonder why. But he gets especially worse if his nose is streaming. I don't know if it's normal though! He has never had any other problems with breathing so I've never been overly concerned.

Yes it's like he's holding his breath, he sort of jumps and starts breathing again.

When you look at his chest is it "sucking in" under his ribs at all?

If he breathing is out of the ordinary and beyond what you would put down to being bunged up I would be tempted to get him checked out if you are worried. Have you tried tiliting the head of his moses basket when sleeping?

Lollyheart · 01/12/2011 21:59

No I wouldn't say his chest is sucking in.
He's sleeping nicely, it just the pauses I'm worried about.
I've put books under his basket to tilt it Smile

Ds does this. Even now at almost 5.

You'll probably get no sleep tonight for wondering and worrying so if I were you I'd get him checked for piece of mind, he's only tiny after all.

Only things I can suggest are steam and saline spray/drops but I'm sure you've done all that!
