My ds has had a cough and cold for about 2 weeks now. Thought it was getting better....apparently not. I know there is not a great deal I can do but was wondering how long I should leave it before going to gp? Any thoughts? Also I've used nurofen today for first time really as he couldn't settle for naps and was getting overtired, wondered if chesty cough medicine would work at all? I don't use cough medicine myself as I've been told by gps it only dampens the effects, it doesn't clear the cough....again any thoughts or
advice? It's waking him up often and he's clearly tired!! :-( TIA.

Is he feeding normally?

I would get her checked over again as it could have gone to her chest. I think it needs to be listened to esp at this age.

DD has had this cold that hasn't gone away for a month now - there are some really nasty ones this year a nurse in the hospital told me. Hope she feels better soon..

Its worthwhile getting it checked over now although they can drag on forever. Cough medicine is not usually effective unless simple linctus to soothe throats.
