Cough Medicine

Can anyone recommend a cough medicine that actully helps for a 3 year old. I understand why they changed all the ages for medicines but we're all being kept awake all night. The doc says it's all cold related/nursery bugs etc. It's just a dry cough. Any ideas? Is medised really off limits? I'm tempted to through the tixylix out of the window.

thanks

Can you make it more comfortable at night to reduce the cough? So leave window open for a few hours, wet dust the room (no polish, just a wet cloth), clean bedding on and vacuum thoroughly? And have a beaker of water to hand?

Honey might help. Manuka honey is what you want. Plenty of fluids, propped up in bed and steam can help sometimes. A friend has a humidifier which she swears by.

Cough meds won't help.

Anyone recommend a humidifier for a small room that isn't £40?? Is there such a thing as a small one??

Definitely Manuka Honey, as high a rating as you can get (Holland and Barrett does manuka honey with a rating of 25). This honey has much stronger antibacterial properties compared with lower rating manuka or ordinary honey. Also lot of drinking, chamomile tea etc. I wouldn't leave the window open (air much too cold at present). Hope (s)he gets better soon.
