chickenpox?

All dd's little friends have had chicken pox and she has been exposed to them at contagious times (Not on purpose!). She is now 17 days past last exposure. Yesterday she developed 4-5 spots at the bottom of her back and one in the middle of her back.

This morning the one in the middle has gone and there are no new ones. They are slightly raised, very red and varying in size.

Is this chicken pox?! Should I take her to the docs to confirm?

She has also had the runs over the weekend but that seems to be better.

NO do not take her into the Doctors, you will possibly expose others to it. You will just have to wait and see.

Assume it is CP and avoid direct contact with others if at all possible. If it is CP you'd probably know for sure by this time tomorrow.

When my first got CP I didn't realise for the first day, it just looked like she had a bite or something on her neck after we'd been out for a country walk, it was only the next day when she was covered that I realised what it was.

Very little point going to the GP, they won't do anything (I took DD1 and the doc looked and said 'yes, its CP' and that was that and we came home) and there may be vulnerable people in the waiting room for whom CP would be very serious like newly pg women and immuno-compromised patients.

Only one more spot but a friend who's dd also had it very mildly said in her opinion it was definitely the pox.

The cold symptoms and the loose poos seem to be more of a pain than the spots!
