Weight gain, what's normal?

DD is my second baby so you'd think I would be more knowledgable on this but I'm really not. DS was a big baby of 9lb 3oz, gained a few ounces and never looked back, he's now a 15kg 2yo.

DD in entirely different, as each baby tends to be. She was 7lb 10oz at birth, had dropped to 7lb 5oz at two weeks old, 7lb 13oz at three weeks (the HV wanted to weigh her to check she wasn't still dropping). I next got her weighed at her six week check when she was 9lb 12oz.

Last Tuesday she was poorly with bronchiolitis and was 10lb 6oz when they weighed her on her admission to hospital. Today she was weighed and is 10lb 2oz.

I'm probably being paranoid thanks to the worry of nearly a week in hospital, compounded by several other mums commenting today that she's so small and their babies of the same age have all gained so much more than that, but it's bothering me that she seems to be gaining so slowly, she's dropped from the 25th percentile to the 9th percentile.

Has anyone got any experiences or knowledge to share on this? Or just a good old toughen up slap for me?

Weight loss when poorly is normal. Ds got bronchi at 8 weeks be weighed 9lb when he went in 8lb 7 when he came home 10 days later.

I would wait at least a month after she is better to start worrying about the weight though. Ds has always been small (only 23lb at 2) but he is healthy and happy so I'm not worried.

Dd1 dropped for 75% to 25% when she had pneumonia when she was 8. She was lighter than she'd been 2 years earlier. Shock
She's stayed just above the 25% line since then, but is perfectly healthy.
