Ds, 3, fever 39.5 and not going down

I forget at what point I should see the doctor. He's not miserable (although dd1 arriving home from school might help!) just fever not going down after paracetamol.

Use your judgment with regard to how long/how many doses paracetamol he's already had. Strip him off to pants only if you haven't already done so.

Give him nurofen as well. It should take about 30 - 45 mins to bring temp down. If it doesn't work I would speak to doctor.

Phew-that's better. Still up in the high thirty eights but has gone down. Thanks all-incapable of remembering most medical stuff-dd2 has taken my remaining grey matter for now!
