Desmopressin

my dd (7.5yr) wets bed every nite, several times, lots and lots of wee. I give him lots of water during the day and I stop his drinking at 6pm, but it doesn't work. The nurse at enuresis clinic has suggested desmopressin and we are going to see the GP tomorrow. I'm scared of putting him on meds, but I'm also concerned of the impact of bedwetting on his self esteem. His little bro stopped bedwetting at 2yrs. It's smelly and it's a lot of wee....we take him to the toilet, but he never wakes up to go on his own. I'm so sad for him, but I try to downplay it, and I keep telling him that it's not a big deal. He refused to go to overnight camp last term, and he refuses to wear dry nites, so not sure what to do....

Dd2 has them. She's been on/off them since 7 and is now 10, shes ok on them but when we have breaks she wets again. She obviously needs the hormone to kick in but it hadn't yet
