Chicken pox?

Ds ( 22 months) has been a bit ill for a few days, grumpy, runny nose, slight cough etc. today he had a red lump on his foot, after a sleep it's now a big blister, he has blisters all over his hands and feet spots on legs and few on his bum. Think it's pox or not? Going to dr's tommorow but just worried in the interim.

Sounds likely.
They won't want you at the doctors so phone them and explain over the phone.
If you google chicken pox you can probably see if they look the same.

Sounds like hand foot and mouth to me. Is his throat sore? Ulcers? Blisters (smaller than cp blisters) develop on the hands and feet and in and around the mouth. You can also get them on the buttocks and genitals.

Chicken pox usually starts on the torso. Make sure you tell the doctor's surgery the symptoms before you go in case they don't want you to sit in the waiting room (cp and hand foot and mouth both v contagious).

I will definately tell them before I go in in case they have an exclusion policy. No ulcers in mouth or sore throat. Not off food or anything, in fact he seens ok in himself. Thanks for the replies ladies.

Possibly cp then, especially if you see it on this torso and face/head. Usually seem more ill before the spots appear.

If he's itchy, porridge in the bath (run the water through an old sock or pair of tights filled with porridge and use the sock as a sponge too) or bicarb in the bath.

Aqueous calamine cream is better than lotion and you can give piriton if it becomes very itchy.

He was definitely more ill earlier in the week. Thanks for all the good advice, i'm a nurse but I'm only good with surgery, I go completely to pieces when its my own who are ill, plus i have never had chicken pox so wasn't really sure what it looks like Grin
