petechaie (sp) rash in 7 year old

Hi, ten days ago my daughter came up in a pin prick rash on her legs which didn't blanch. She seemed fit and well do I kept eye on it thinking she had bumped herself, it dissapeared after few days and more came on her buttocks and shoulder. That went then today she came up in one large purple spot in her ear and the pinpricks rash on neck.

Went to doc today and they doing blood tests on Tuesday. She seems healthy but has been complaining of headaches recently. Does anyone know what may be causing this? I'm very worried :(

i think you should take her to hospital.

Doc said if we had come in ten days ago wen it first appeared that's where he would've sent us but as its been a while now that she's been getting it that we know its not menongitis related as she would be very poorly by now

Both me and my 2yr old DS had this. We both went to the doc and he sent us to hospital. DS was quite clearly fine in himself though and we came home after a few tests.

You do need to get her checked out, but it could be something and nothing.

DD had something similar earlier this week after what appears to be a virus. It seems to be going away, but I'm keeping an eye on her. (And debating whether she needs to see the doc.)
