Hi all.

I am new to the forum so bear with me! Ive got a 10week old with a cold. I was told calpol was ok to use just not very often. Ive been using it for the last couple of nights as she seems more restless. Tonight, she was screaming when i used the siringe to feed it to her. Because i panicked a bit i squirted it a bit too quick and she was coughing for a bit after.

Is there anyway calpol could have gone into her lungs or down the wrong hole? Shes asleep now but im sat watching her breathe worrying. i think im just nervous because its my first child and ive never used a siringe before.

If anyone has any comments on this i would appreciate it!!

Thanks xx :)

Please, please don't worry. At least once a day my rather enthusiastic milk supply squirts out too fast and 9 week old ds splutters and coughs.

You're tired and anxious. I prescribe cake.

It's often easier to syringe it into their cheeks iyswim.

i am sure she's fine!
i guess technically some could have gone down the wrong way... but the coughing will have brought it up and I can't see it being a big issue.

does her breathing sound ok?

awww poor thing - don't worry and I'm sure she'll be ok in a day or too.

are you using a room inhaler thing like Olbas oil too? Boots sell one for tiny babies, I think it's called 4little1.

Thank u so much for replying so quick! Yeah her breathing is fine shes fast asleep (the few times ive used it, it knocks her out) im just going to watch her like a hawk for now and hope she wakes for her next feed. I guess um panicking because its not milk its paracetamol. You have really eased my mind thankyou so much! Xx
