Just back from the doctors with my 3yo DD. He said he could feel a small hard lump in her belly button and it's a hernia. We have to keep an eye on it for the next six months but it will probably need surgery.

Anyone had any experience of this?

TIA

Yes, DS1 had a double hernia operation at 3 months. It was quite stress full, more for us than for him as he had a general. He's 9 now and you can see no scar at all, there were two tiny hairline cuts and it was done via key hole surgey, the wounds were covered in a plastic coating, like cling film that stuck to his skin with dissovable stitchers so no issue with bathing etc. He was brilliant afterwards no issues and behace just the same as before. They call it a routine op, but it's not routine for the parents, but the staff we fab and we were in at 7am and out by 3pm, he just had to pass water and then we could leave.
