problem when playing with penis

Has anyone experienced DS pulling back their foreskin and getting it stuck as then swelled up? It happened to my DS age 4 and he was hysterical. Luckily my doctor spoke to me immediately I phoned and told me to bring him straight down and managed to pull it back but was quite a traumatic experience for us both.
Any advice welcome.

You can't really stop him playing with his penis. If it's a physical problem (sometimes the foreskin is too tight) they can do a "stretching" operation which can help, or you may have to consider circumcision. Talk to your GP about it, see what s/he says.

This problem is called a paraphimosis and it is very serious usually requiring an urgent visit to A&E. You were quite right to act fast because awful damage can result from delay. The penis foreskin swells because blood is trapped and cannot circulate. It continues to enter the organ but cannot escape from this self perpetuating situation. Neglect in extreme cases can result in the penis becoming gangrenous.

Although prompt attention can restore things to normal there is always a risk it can happen again at any time in life and in some males it does. The only sure way to eliminate this p[ossibility is to circumcise your son and I would discuss this option with your doctor.
