8mo not eating, drinking or sleeping

Hi all,

My 8mo has only taken about a quarter the amount of his usual food and drink for the past day and a half. He has an intermittent high temperature (highest was 38.5 at which point I called the gp and was told to use Calpol for a couple of days amd see what happens) and is mighty grumpy. Poor thing has slept really badly for the past couple of nights and will only be fed or walked to sleep now (which we haven't done for at least 3 months).

Anyone any idea what this could be? I want to get an idea before going to see the health visitor as she is possibly the most stupid and patronising woman I have ever met (she keeps telling me to put the baby in a room and close the door...for everything including not eating, not sleeping and biting me during feeding).

TIA

i would say ear infection, that will stop them eating, drinking and sleeping!

when you walk them to sleep they are more upright i woudl guess? so ears wouldnt hurt as much,as soon as they are layed down their ears will hurt, i woudl take to gp to rule our ear infection. it may just clear up on its own tho, they often do, in the meantime calpol and try to prop them up when asleep either one end of the cot if in a cot? or in a semi reclined position in a pushchair?

Ear infection? I didn't think of that. Good idea, DS grumbles as soon as we put him down and is cheery as soon as we pick him up....

Thanks!

yep sounds like it to me, i am guessing he is upright as soon as you pick him up? which would mean his ears wouldnt hurt so much! hope he recovers quickly xxx :)
