my husband keeps getting upset over the fact that our 18 month old is 13.6kgs and on the top of the growth charts. she is around 75th-80th for height too so its not like she is tiny... but he is worried I feed her too much.

I really try to feed her healthy home made food and she only snacks on fruit or sometimes raisins or rice cakes or ellas fruit pouches, with a rare biscuit at playgroup. She is also on about 12 oz of milk. when do you worry about a toddlers weight?

Is she is pretty much same centiles for height and weight I wouldn't worry. Someone has to be at the top of the centiles just like others have to be at the bottom.

It only becomes a worry if they are out of proportion IMO

well she is definitely heavier rather than taller. she is only on the 75th for height I reckon.

You have to be careful because if you are overfeeding (not saying you are) they then tend to grow early, so people get fooled as they say "oh they're just tall too".

Having said that dd1 I was concerned about her weight at round a year, and she's (age 11) now perfectly proportioned and about right. I was for some time careful about her eating as IL family run to fat easily. She had pneumonia 3 years ago and weight (in that way) hasn't been an issue since.
