Supraventricular Tachycardia - getting stressed

My 6 year old has had a few episodes of rapid hear beats over the last few months. Saw the doctor today and he thinks he has SVT. Does anyone know anything about this ? How is it managed in children ? I have an arrhythmia that presents itself as extra beats occasionally but I've told it's benign.
I'm terrified of what this means for him. We are being referred to a specialist hopefully next week.

I know a young lad that had this. I think it means the cause is outside of the heart and usually an electrical impulse. Not usually serious. In his case he lost weight and got fitter and grew out of it. He was told that he could have drugs or worst case a small op.

Sorry can't remember all the complicated explanations but not serious.
