DS has poorly cough

DS is 15 months old and has had a bit of a cough for the past couple of weeks, I thought it would have gone by now tbh. It's not a terrible cough but sometimes its getting to the point where he seems a bit retchy iykwim.

He had a bad case of bronchilitus over christmas and ended up being in hospital for 10 days with it so I'm just a bit worried this could be linked?

I dont want to be one of them mothers that take their kids to the doctors for every tiny little thing, do you think its worth taking him for a check up though?

With the bronchi history I would take him to get checked, wont do any harm and will put your mind at ease.

As he has had bronchi I guess you know about checking for recession and tugging?

Do you mean if his chest and tummy is going in when he breathes?

Oh well his breathing is fine, its just the cough thats annoying him.
Do you still think its worth taking him? Dont want to waste their time cos they dont half make you feel bad for it!

Trust your instinct and take him, he is reliant on you to make these decisions as he can't take himself off to the docs.

I trust my instinct more than any doctor as my Ds had pneumonia and the junior doc at the hospital missed it and sent him home, i was not happy and went back 2 days later. He ended up with empyema and was operated on to drain the fluid from his lungs. I am not telling you this to scare you just to say that a mother's instinct is strong and you are not wasting anyone's time. Please get him checked if you are worried.

I agree with turnip. You have to follow your instincts. I think as mums we can tell if something needs checking over or if something isn't right.

Since he had bronchi DS has had a lot of trouble with his chest so an ongoing cough would make me take him to get checked out.

I know what you mean Turnip, I had the same with the bronchi. Took him to the docs and they dismissed it as a bit of a cold, the next day he wouldn't wake up at all and his chest was caving in :(

I will make an appointment tomorrow, would rather be safe than sorry. Thanks for the advice.
